Upcoming information session for prospective students

A letter was sent to local schools advertising the program and an information session that we will be holding for prospective students. This information session will take place Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at 5pm in North Ross 620.

If you know anyone who would like to attend you may pass along a link to the following letter http://garsia.math.yorku.ca/~zabrocki/ma4teacherslet.pdf.

It has been suggested that we have an information session for the M.A. for Teachers program with current students as well. I teach on Mondays from 6-9pm and I can come after the algebra class one evening if you want to discuss any issues. Comments?

  1. This is the Monday of our March Break. Will class be running? Will many be attending?

  2. If York is serious about trying to promote this program and attract teachers, instead of just mailing letters to local schools you would be better served by also setting up a booth at the OAME conference (May 14-16 in Ottawa); this annual conference is WIDELY attended by secondary school math teachers from across the province ... there is always a publisher's display area and other institutions advertise their programs there
[On a related note, York should consider putting an ad in the OAME Gazette journal]

  3. I am not intentionally coming the week of March break. Maybe March 23? I might be able to make it the 9th too. I plan to visit the history class as well but will wait until after I've gone to the algebra class.
